Born 1981, Chris Wood was drawn to drum and bass by a number of tracks he heard whilst in his deep dark heavy metal phase. These tracks, by artists such as Grooverider and Roni Size drew him away from the roar of big hairy sweaty blokes and introduced him to such concepts as harmony and having something in your music other than shouting and widdly guitar solos. Living in Redcar, on Teeside in the UK he was however isolated from the main drum and bass club scene etc so he had to garner what knowledge he could from the Fabio and Grooverider radio show. That is until recently. The information age has allowed a greater freedom in the exchange of information and especially music. So here's my take on Drum and Bass. Hope you like it.
